The first Europeans to set foot in Australia found scads of odd-looking marsupials, but no placental mammals other than rodents, bars, and this dog. An independent-minded, wild living canid, the hound physically resembles the pariah dog of India, also a feral one. A wild dingo puppy can be obtained from a rescue.
